Chief economist with IHS Global Insight, Howard Archer, said: "While it had been hoped the manufacturing purchasing managers' survey would show some improvement after July's post-Brexit vote slump, the rebound was encouragingly strong". It was one of the pieces of evidence that contributed to the Bank of England's recent decision to cut its interest rate to 0.25%. Hermine became the fourth hurricane of the 2016 season around mid-afternoon on Thursday (local time) when its sustained winds reached about 120 km/h. "It's going to be a lot of risk". Dennis affected much of Florida, and its effects extended well inland over portions of the southeastern United States with the maximum amount rainfall of 12.80 inches occuring near Camden, Alabama. Cal Fire is on scene of a fire at Bogart Park in Cherry Valley, that they say is growing at a rapid speed. The blaze erupted shortly before 12:30pm in the unincorporated Cherry Valley area and has thrown up a line of 25-foot-high flames. Four firefighters have been injured battling the flames so far. The South Coast Air Quality Management District issued a smoke advisory through Thursday morning, indicating smoke impacts and unhealthy air quality in the Banning Pass and Coachella Valley. On Sept 1, the NHC posted a Tropical Storm Warning for Flores and Corvo in the western Azores. Officials said residents should continue to be prepared for more rain, strong winds and high surf overnight.
