White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, assigned to work on the dispute by US President Donald Trump, helped negotiate the deal and was working the phones on it until the wee hours of Monday morning, the official said. Schools are being encouraged to try and organise some face-to-face support for the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils, in order to support families wherever possible. (more...)

At least three officers were injured while trying to shut down the party, authorities say. Regional police said on Twitter they had confiscated the sound system and other equipment and would press charges against all who were involved.
