There were no immediate reports of loss life or damage to property. After a long flight home from Rio de Janeiro, the athletes quickly found that their show of solidarity and team spirit - in the form of matching red backpacks - wasn't all that smart in hindsight. Silver medal windsurfer Nick Dempsey and gold medal-winning rower Alex Gregory were among athlete's who took to social media to share their frustrations. (more...)

Abdul Rahman Rahimi, Chief of the Afghan National Police in Kabul , confirmed on Thursday that seven students, three policemen and three other university personnel lost their lives in the attack while 30 others were wounded.
