Victoria recorded it's fourth straight day without a new COVID-19 case on Tuesday, bringing renewed hope to a population worn down by months of restrictions. "What we shouldn't be complacent about is thinking that if we've got a few days with no cases that there's never a requirement for masks", Dr Sutton said, adding that masks are important for "those potential transmission events when we don't know that there's something out there". The co-ordinator of the Covid-19 task force at RIMS, Dr Prabhat Kumar, said at least 125 of the 218 Covid beds at the hospital were free. Out of the 82 private hospitals with ICU beds having ventilator support, 38 are running full. "Even those under home isolation should be under medical supervision", she said. Hospital's Director Dr. Sagarraj Bhandari said that the Hospital fixed the charges for the treatment of the COVID-19 patients after the government did not provide a budget for the ... (more...)
