The applicants have provided significant evidence of the risks and challenges faced by STCA ineligible claimants when they are returned to the U.S. The ruling does not take effect for six months, during which time the government will be given a chance to reply. In my view, the risk of detention for the sake of "administrative" compliance with the provisions of the STCA can not be justified. (more...)

As the United States has stepped up its freedom of navigation operations, China has bolstered its own military drills and last week deployed fighter jets to Woody Island in the Paracels, an archipelago also claimed by Taiwan and Vietnam. The Beijing-based company lost over 200 million users only on account of TikTok in India. But this was also discovered to be the situation for dozens of other applications which includes Reddit, LinkedIn, the New York Occasions and the BBC News app, and it does not look that something nefarious was going on.
