The Odisha government urged the Centre to temporarily suspend the running of "Shramik Special" trains to the state's coastal districts because of the impending cyclonic storm that is likely to intensify from Sunday, an official said. Crews were battling a commercial fire at 6:26 p.m. inside a single-story commercial building at 327 E. Boyd St. when the explosion happened. The department issued a " mayday " call and characterised the incident as a "major emergency". Firefighters were seen pouring water on the flames from outside, unable to go inside the burning buildings. The LAFD said firefighters had arrived to reports of a one-story commercial building with smoke showing. (more...)

But later the Nevada Department of Transportation said in an alert that the quake had damaged parts of U.S. It was about seven miles deep. The half-mile section of highway that was damaged was reopened later in the day.
