Over half of all coronavirus patients in Canada are in Quebec, numbering 12,293 at last count. The number of reported cases has also declined each day since Thursday's high of 550. Meanwhile, the province reported by far its largest increase in COVID-19 testing since Premier Doug Ford said his "patience has worn thin" with the low number of tests being completed in the province. A statement from Gantz's Blue and White said he had "requested a two week extension from Rivlin" to form a government with Netanyahu, noting Israel's "health and social crisis" in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Israel has reported almost 11,000 cases and over 100 dead, but appears to be weathering the crisis better than most countries. Gantz might also try to revive the anti-Netanyahu legislation, although it was unclear if he could do so. (more...)

Starting on April 15, the Alberta government will match donations "dollar-for-dollar" to charities that are responding to the pandemic, up to $2 million province-wide. Kenney touted Alberta's readiness for the pandemic and credited AHS officials for their work. "We are in a position both to keep Albertans safe and to help ensure Canadian health systems coast to coast are equipped to take on the challenges ahead", stated Tyler Shandro Minister of Health. The San Diego Diocese is going online with Easter celebrations, celebrating Thursday through Sunday on its website here . It's celebrated for more than a week, and it kicks off with the Passover Seder, a feast that is usually spent in a synagogue with hundreds of other people. (more...)
