On Friday, Johnson's Downing St. office said he was able to take "short walks" between periods of rest and had spoken to his doctors to thank them "for the incredible care he has received". Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has been standing in for the prime minister as he receives treatment. Johnson was admitted to hospital yesterday (April 5) after initially testing positive for COVID-19 on March 27. (more...)

The Chinese government released a new list of animals that can be farmed for meat as the country begins to reopen to a new normal following the novel coronavirus outbreak that is thought to have originated in a wet market in Wuhan. These markets also often sell live dogs and cats to be killed and butchered on-site. The measure follows on the heels of February's nationwide ban on the trade and consumption of wildlife in China. US officials warned Americans to expect alarming numbers of coronavirus deaths this week, even as there was evidence that the number of new infections was flattening in NY state, the epicenter of the USA outbreak. But he said testing needed to be stepped up massively to stop a second wave of infections when the economy gradually begins to open again. "Under our law, Canadian goods can not be exported where there is a substantial risk that they would be used to commit or to facilitate serious violations of worldwide humanitarian law, global human rights law or serious acts of gender-based violence", he said. Churches Are Making Changes Ahead Of Good Friday And Easter Sunday

Bob Fox organized the event as a way to "take the gospel outside the walls" of the church building. Along with this, bells in churches throughout Limerick will ring out at 10pm on Saturday evening. With Easter coming up, a lot of churches are finding ways to serve their congregations while still keeping them safe. For people who aren't able to connect online, they have a number you can call to listen to the services over the phone. (more...)
