According to a witness, the vehicle pulled up alongside the boy as he was fixing the chain on his bike at 4.43pm. The small Frantic Giant mountain bike left behind had a silver frame with black and yellow detail. Detectives traced a VW Transporter they thought might have been involved, but ruled it out after speaking to the owner. "If you were in the area, perhaps commuting to or from Redhill train station at the time please get in touch with us if you saw anything suspicious". (more...)

A woman in SC has been arrested on murder chargers after she allegedly put her newborn baby in the refrigerator for hours. A Facebook profile that appears to belong to her shows photos of her with a toddler and a newborn, posted the day after William's birth. The baby's grandfather, Billy Lewis, became emotional as he remembered holding his grandson just one time. (more...)

Two nuns working as nurses and helping the poor in rural MS have been found murdered in their home. There were signs of a break-in and the nuns' vehicle is missing, said Maureen Smith, a spokeswoman for the Catholic Diocese of Jackson. David Merrill said his aunt loved to knit and travel, but because she had taken a vow of poverty, her travel was limited. Sisters of Charity is asking for prayers for both families. (more...)

According to Reuters , the strong 6.2 magnitude quake struck early on Wednesday as people slept, razing homes and buckling roads. Despite hampered efforts, there was some good news Thursday. With heavy lifting equipment just starting to reach isolated villages and towns that were cut off by landslides and building debris, people used tractors, farm equipment and simple hand tools to break through what was left of old stone villas. Charges are expected to be filed Friday. Officer Moats has been with the City of Maryville Police Department since February 2007 and in June of 2010 was assigned to traffic as a motor officer. The officer was married with three children. The law enforcement officers parked their vehicle at a residence about 70 yards behind the house from which the call originated, the news release states. The mayor asked to display the pearl in the New Green City Hall in the city. He brought the pearl back home and kept it under his bed, he used to touch it before heading for fishing as his good luck charm, until his house caught fire and he had no option but to move. Officers attending the scene said two people had suffered "crossbow or crossbow bolt injuries". Sadiya Haque, who lives around the corner from the house where the incident occurred, says the incident scared her. No license is required to purchase a crossbow in Canada. (more...)
