Fentanyl, which can be lethal, has been at the center of America's opioid crisis. Vaughn said 114 kilograms of fentanyl, 179 kilograms of methamphetamine and one kilogram of fentanyl pills were found under the floor of the trailer. Fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and 30 to 50 times more potent than heroin. No other arrests have been made, he said. A Kentucky jury Wednesday awarded Senator Paul $375,000 in punitive damages, $200,000 for pain and suffering, and almost $8,000 in medical expenses, the Bowling Green Daily News reports . Mr Paul had reportedly sought up to $1 million in punitive damages and $500,000 in compensation. Following the trial, the senator tweeted that the lawsuit wasn't about him but about what the public finds acceptable in society. (more...)
