The Coast Guard says the two men held onto the boat for almost a day until one of them died early Tuesday morning. The U.S. Coast Guard says Michael Murphy's boat was found damaged and capsized in the harbor. A Coast Guard spokesman said one passenger was located unconscious on the rocks in the breakwall and was sent to an area hospital, where he later died. (more...)

The men and women of the National Guard will work closely with FEMA, federal troops and an armada of volunteer police officers, firefighters and public citizens helping their neighbors. Three rescue helicopters, one rescue plane, and several watercrafts were also deployed. Since the election, they have been seen as the religious group with the most access and influence in the White House. As of the last advisory, at 7 a.m. CDT Monday , Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten was located about 135 miles south-southwest of Charleston, S.C., and was almost stationary, the hurricane center said. The system has been upgraded to a 70 percent chance of formation over the next two days. As of Sunday evening, parts of Houston experienced between 25 to 27 inches of rain, while some rural areas experienced as much as 50 inches of rain. That record rainfall is thanks to an unusual situation. August 2017 has been the wettest month on record for the state. "Furthermore, the spatial coverage of the heavy rain from Harvey is far greater than anything that has happened in Hawaii, so I think it's fair to say that this is now the most extreme multi-day rain event in USA history". Into Sunday , temperatures will be slightly warmer with sunny skies. There is quite a bit of uncertainty in the Labor Day weekend forecast. Rhonda Wylie loaded sandbags into her vehicle with help of firefighters Monday as rain bands neared New Orleans. The pump is at station 6, which is at the 17th street canal. The city says crews are working 24/7 to strengthen the drainage system's capacity. President Trump has signed a federal emergency declaration for five parishes in the state of Louisiana. (more...)
