Italy plans military mission in Libyan waters

Libya's UN-backed unity government chief has denied that an agreement has been struck with Rome to deploy Italian vessels in Libyan waters to combat human trafficking. According to the Libya Herald, Serraj issued a statement saying he had done no such thing. The foreign ministry, in a statement carried by pro-GNA news agency LANA, said the Italian government had been asked "to provide logistical and technical support to the Libyan coastguard". (more...)

He likened the House Republican plan to "a very damaged football". Weirdly, Trump hasn't simply fired Sessions, choosing, instead, to apparently try to humiliate Sessions into quitting. He said that it would be inappropriate for Mueller to investigate his and his family's finances and would not say if he'd terminate the special prosecutor for doing so. (more...)

So far, the federal government hasn't found any evidence that carbon monoxide poisoning has caused any injuries or crashes. Beef imports have surged as prices dropped due to a recovery in U.S. beef production following a drought. Japan is slapping emergency tariffs of 50 percent on imports of frozen USA beef after shipments surged. Agriculture Department. National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) President Craig Uden says, "We're very disappointed to learn that the tariff on frozen beef imports to Japan will increase from 38.5% to 50% until April 2018".
