Three legislators of the Gujarat Congress on Thursday quit the faction-ridden party, which is still reeling from the exit of popular leader Shankersinh "Bapu" Vaghela. Asserting that nothing illegal was found in the raids, Vaghela said he himself had gone to the CBI's Mumbai office to challenge it to arrest him if it had found anything wrong. (more...)

In 2015, the most recent full year of data available, that rate had fallen to 284.4 violent offenses per 100,000 people. Islamic Hamas movement said Thursday the Israeli removal of all recent security facilities at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem is a "historic victory" and the battle for the sake of the mosque is not over yet. Momani hoped that Palestinians would perform their Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque peacefully as they have been doing over centuries, and the situation will return back to normal without provocation or any attempts from the Israeli side to change the status quo of the holy sites. Channel 2 TV reported on Monday the sophisticated cameras can detect concealed objects. Mansour said the Security Council should condemn in the strongest terms the closing of Al-Aqsa mosque for the first time since 1969, stressing that "Al Aqsa mosque should not be closed under any pretext".
