It comes after the BBC was compelled to publish details of its top-earning talent for the first time earlier this week in disclosures that showed two thirds of the best paid stars were men. Analysis of the 2016 National Management Salary Survey of 60,000 United Kingdom managers found that men are more likely than women to have been promoted into senior and higher paying management roles in the past year, with no progress made on reducing the 23% gender pay gap . A mammoth rescue operation was launched by the navy and wildlife officials to save the animals from drowning, personnel reached with fleet of boats and used ropes to tie the jumbos. The animals were later released to the Foul Point forest. Responding promptly to the situation, the Navy augmented the rescue mission by deploying three more Fast Attack Craft, on patrol and a team of Navy Divers. (more...)

Miami saw an average of $2.24 per gallon while drivers in Pensacola paid, on average, $2.23 at the pump. It is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, 4.7 cents less than one month ago, and 4.5 cents more than one year ago. Including the change in gas prices in Texas during the past week, prices yesterday were 8.4 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 1.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. This is the sixth death sentence of Surinder Koli out of the 16 cases filed against him. She was reported missing since leaving the house of her employer after watching a television serial on October 5, 2006. On Saturday, the CBI court had held both the accused guilty of attempted rape, murder and destruction of evidence. She took the road outside Pandher's home in the Nithari area of Noida. (more...)

These banners have been spotted outside the Lahore Press Club at Shimla Pahari and were put up by "NGO Pakistan". The PML-N distanced itself from the NGO and called the banners "mischievous". The head of the provincial government, Shahbaz Sharif , condemned the attack. If some reports are to be believed even Kalsoom Nawaz, wife of Nawaz Sharif, is also being seen as candidate for the top post. (more...)
