An Israeli border policewoman died from her wounds early on Saturday morning after being stabbed in Jerusalem's Old City on Friday night. "However, he shows no signs of understanding language, responding to verbal commands or awareness of his surroundings". His father, Fred Warmbier, said the family was proud of their son, calling him "a fighter". According to doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Warmbier is a vegetable. (more...)

Medstar Washington Hospital Centre released the update on behalf of the Scalise family. "The Scalise family greatly appreciates the outpouring of thoughts and prayers", the statement concludes. Scalise's trauma surgeon said Friday he can hope to make an "excellent recovery", even though the lawmaker arrived at the hospital Wednesday at imminent risk of death. (more...)

In Wyoming, resident Amy Mayer said news of his release had sent waves of shock and joy through the neighborhood.
