Navalny then laid the groundwork for the June 12 rallies, crisscrossing Russian Federation to open campaign offices and meet volunteers, many who have known no national leader other than Putin . An opposition organiser for Navalny in Vladivostok on the Pacific coast was detained and fined for illegally organising a rally, according to state news service RIA Novosti, which cited a regional lawmaker. The Foreign Office had denied knowledge of any such visit and has also recently denied foreign media reports of 20,000 Pakistani troops being deployed in Qatar. (more...)

Labour had won 261 seats. May said that "I want to reflect on the election and why it did not deliver the result I hoped for". The two governments agreed under the deal that the issue would be "irreversibly resolved" if both sides fulfilled their obligations. The 2030 World Cup is less than 13 years away but in recent months, there have been talks about countries co-hosting the tournament.
