Roland Yearwood , a 50-year-old physician from Alabama, passed away at an altitude of around 27,500ft in the "death zone" - an area on the mountain notorious for having thin air . Rescuers have failed to locate a fourth climber, from India, who disappeared shortly after reaching the summit. Five climbers have now died on Everest during this current spring climbing season, which runs from March to the end of May. (more...)
