The Falcon 9 Full Thrust rocket carrying NROL-76, a classified payload for the US National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), was launched into orbit at around 12.15pm BST (7.15am local time) from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. For the last six years, at least, only United Launch Alliance has delivered government payloads into space. The Pentagon advised its officers that they have to take this limitation into account and that it may require repayment of part of the income if no permission is requested before receiving a payment. White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the Defense Department probe of Flynn was " appropriate if they think there is wrongdoing".
