Berkeley praises police for keeping peace at Coulter rallies

At least 6 people were arrested - one for obstructing an officer and wearing a mask to evade police, and another for possessing a knife, Berkeley police Officer Byron White told the Associated Press. Coulter said the threats were motivated by a university bias against conservative speakers. Though Coulter's speech at UC Berkeley was canceled, far-right supporters were planning rallies Thursday to denounce what they claim is an attempt to silence their conservative views. (more...)

And women are now as much in favor of legal marijuana as men are; in previous years they were less so. Nine percent said neither alcohol nor marijuana was harmful. Brohl, who heads Colorado's Department of Revenue, said there are about 3,000 licensed marijuana businesses in her state, about half medical and half recreational. (more...)
