General manager Doug Wilson, admittedly in the hockey business a long time, said it still amazes him. Thornton underwent surgery on a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee Monday to fix an injury that sidelined him less than two weeks before he returned to play the final four games of a first-round series loss to the Edmonton Oilers. There have been fears that North Korea will use the anniversary as an excuse to carry out another missile test at a time of heightened tensions between the USA and the secretive Communist state, which launched a failed test in April. As well as his military show of force, Trump has sought to press China to do more to rein in its nuclear-armed neighbor. It did not appear that any punches were thrown, but Sano and Boyd were ejected. Jacob deGrom (0-1) struck out 10 and walked six in 5 2/3 innings. Victor Martinez added three hits and two RBI.
