On Friday, French authorities said a man sought by Belgium police, who was suspected of having planned to travel to France on Thursday, had handed himself in at a police station in the Belgian city of Antwerp. Marty Cisse, an office cleaner from Mauritania, worries that Le Pen's closed-borders platform would threaten immigrants like himself, but said "security is important" and said it should be the priority of the next president. The House of Commons backed the prime minister by a margin of 522 votes to 13, above the two-thirds majority needed, as Labour and the Lib Dems supported the move. It's not just Brexit that should be considered when we go to the polls in under two months time . The June election would be the third time in two years voters are sent to polling booths, after a May 2015 national election and a June 2016 referendum on European Union membership. (more...)

Cummins surrendered to deputies Thursday near a remote cabin in Cecilville, California. He tried honking his horn but it didn't work, so he hollered for them and eventually they emerged, he said. When sheriff's deputies arrived, they kept surveillance on the vehicle for several hours. Officers ran down more than 1,500 leads and put in countless hours during the search for her, he said. They also acknowledged people's fears about a number of simultaneous power outages that were reported in other cities - including Los Angeles and New York City - but believe that the one in San Francisco was triggered by "equipment failure". It was revealed earlier this week that a USA aircraft carrier group led by the USS Carl Vinson would spend another 30 days at sea before heading towards North Korean waters. Ryan said he was encouraged by the results of efforts to work with China to reduce tension, but that it was unacceptable North Korea might be able to strike allies with nuclear weapons. (more...)

If the election goes ahead, parliament would be dissolved on May 3 and the campaign would begin in earnest, just days after European Union leaders hold a special summit to agree a negotiating strategy for Brexit on April 29. Leaders of European Union states are due to adopt negotiating guidelines at an April 29 summit, and the bloc will prepare detailed plans for the talks with Britain by late May. (more...)

The latest veto on Thursday (local time) saw Russian Federation block a draft resolution backed by the United States , France and Britain to denounce the attack, and require Assad's government to provide access for investigators and information, such as flight plans.
