Harry Harris, the commander of US Pacific Command, directed the USS Carl Vinson strike group to sail north to the Western Pacific after departing Singapore on Saturday, Pacific Command announced. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met Monday in central Italy to discuss the Syrian conflict and the rising nuclear threat posed by North Korea. The country will go to the polls on May 9 to elect a new president in an atempt to restore stability to the government.
