China, which normally votes with Russian Federation in the council on matters relating to Syria , did not overtly criticize the USA strike , perhaps because President Xi Jinping is now meeting with President Donald Trump in Florida. The Syrian government said at least seven people were killed and several wounded in the attack. In 2013, Mr Trump said on Twitter: "Stay out of Syria". (more...)

Jerry Brown met with Senate Democrats behind closed doors during a recess from the floor session. If the justices are divided 4 to 4 in any of them, the most likely route to breaking a ties would be to schedule a new round of arguments, with Gorsuch participating. But Democrats had shown no signs of forsaking their filibuster plans all week. But at times on Thursday, it was hard to escape the conclusion that Judge Garland loomed largest in the minds of Democrats. (more...)

He was fouled on a basket and made the free throw. All of the game's key big men were in some sort of foul trouble in the second half. He ended up being called for his fourth foul despite replay showing minimal contact. (more...)

A Montgomery circuit judge granted Bentley more time to respond to the allegations. Joe Manchin (D - WV), Heidi Heitkamp (D - ND), and Joe Donnelly (D - IN) voted to confirm Gorsuch. So, why are the Democrats in the Senate determined to filibuster his nomination? When Trump was hosting his talks with Abe at the same retreat in mid-February, North Korea blasted an a surface-to-surface medium long-range ballistic missile from a mobile launcher that flew about 500 km before landing in the waters between Japan and the Korean Peninsula.
