Initial reports suggested that 9 people were killed but later Talal Barazi, the governor of Homs province clarified that 9 wounded and 7 including 4 children were killed. In a separate report on the strikes, SANA claimed that the USA -led coalition had committed "dozens of massacres against the Syrians" which had left "dozens of civilians dead or injured". (more...)

Russia's top investigative body said DNA evidence indicated that Jalilov also placed a bag containing a bomb at another subway station on April 3. Investigators gave no further details about Djalilov but his name and year of birth coincided with a statement from the Kyrgyz security services, which said earlier yesterday he was a naturalised Russian citizen originally from Kyrgyzstan. The wounded were airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center. Coral Gables Police said the scene has now been secured. Police did not offer an update on either victim's condition. More than a dozen police cars were parked outside the outdoor mall, which was ringed with crime scene tape. General manager Tim Hartog said some patrons ran inside and hid under tables while others rushed out the back door before police ordered the restaurant and nearby shops on lockdown. (more...)

And, yeah I'm sort of at a loss for words, but it's really a great day. SpaceX has been circumspect about the extent to which this Falcon 9 first stage had to be refurbished for the reuse flight. Thursday will mark the first time SpaceX attempts to put one of those used rockets back in the air. This process now takes up to four months, but getting this time down is beneficial for both SpaceX and its customers. (more...)

Emergency sirens across Dallas started blaring shortly before midnight Friday after an apparent system malfunction , and authorities estimated it would take hours to shut them all off. "We can state at this time that the City's siren system was hacked Friday night", says a city spokesperson. "We are putting in safeguards to ensure this type of hack does not happen again", the city said in a news release. (more...)
