Authorities said the images have indicated that Cummins has altered his appearance by darkening his hair, and that Thomas now has red hair, a change from her brownish-blonde hair. Police there released pictures of what they believe could be Tad Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas. "In our Elizabeth's case they got her to this mindset where she believed that if she did anything they didn't want her to do that they would come and kill her family", Edward Smart told WKRN-TV . A 1,655-strong search party and four excavators have been deployed to unearth the 20-metre thick earth that buried 35 houses. One body was found before the search was suspended as rain started to fall. BPBD estimates about half the country's population of 256 million people lives in areas prone to landslides.
