There are between 30 to 40 homeless people resident in Apollo House - a Nama-controlled former office building which was occupied by homelessness activists late last Thursday night. THERE WERE 54 unoccupied beds in homeless shelters in Dublin last night, according to the Housing Minister. Minister Coveney said he understands the level of public concern around the issue - but warned that it is important for people to "have the facts" when it's being discussed. (more...)

At least 34,000 people, including more than 4,000 rebel fighters, were evacuated from east Aleppo in a week-long operation hampered by severe winter weather. The destruction in those parts of the city has been far less than in the eastern districts that rebels held until this month. Michael Knott of the Stillwater Salvation Army Corps said 99 percent of the money raised goes back into Payne County. The Salvation Army has kicked off the Red Kettle Selfie Campaign.
