The trial of Michael Slager, who was sacked from the North Charleston police department and charged with murder in the death of 50-year-old Walter Scott, entered its third week Monday. The jury in the trial of a white former SC patrolman is seeing an animation of the shooting of Walter Scott. Cellphone video of the shooting showed Scott being shot in the back while fleeing a traffic stop. (more...)

The Waco Friends of Peace/Climate protest was one of hundreds Tuesday around the country. Its current route crosses the Missouri River near Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. Nationwide, some of the protests targeted banks, such as Wells Fargo and Bank of America, that are helping to fund the pipeline. Augie Green was one of three organizations that organized Tuesday night's protest. (more...)
