The Crimson Tide won 19 straight games over the 2009-10 seasons. Head coach Nick Saban has never lost to Arkansas while at Alabama. Cornelius is averaging 23.7 yards per reception the past three games thanks to his big-play potential. Any last hopes of an upset by the Razorbacks were squashed early in the fourth quarter with Alabama's second defensive score. Hurts finished the night 13-17 for 253 yards and two touchdowns. In Colombia, voters narrowly defeated a peace deal that would have ended the longest-running armed conflict in Latin America. President Juan Manuel Santos had been confident of a "yes" result. This would seem to indicate the FARC may have little desire to renegotiate what they have already approved. Matthew howled through Haiti's western peninsula on Tuesday with 145 miles per hour (233 kph) winds and torrential rain. Overnight Matthew weakened from a Category 4 to a Category 3, but the hurricane still was dumping heavy rains and battering beachfront communities with powerful, howling winds. Publix began opening some stores in Central Florida Friday afternoon as Hurricane Matthew passed by the area. There are a total of more than 27,000 people in nearly 200 shelters and evacuation centers that have been displaced because of Hurricane Matthew, according to the Red Cross. (more...)
