In 2003 the COJ removed him from office for defying a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments display from the Alabama Judicial Building. Jerry Brown on Thursday signed legislation that will require restrooms for single users to be designated all-gender, California's latest move to bolster transgender rights even as much of the country moves in the opposite direction. Gov. Jerry Brown is taking action on several voting-related bills, including legislation that lays the groundwork for more California counties to conduct elections entirely through mail-in ballots. Reg Dickason, the England and Wales Cricket Board's security advisor, gave the tour the go-ahead after a fact finding mission in the subcontinent although one-day captain Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales opted to pull out over safety concerns. We feel very comfortable and satisfied with the security we've been given. In July, an arbitration tribunal at The Hague rejected China's vast territorial claims in the contested waters in a case brought by the Philippines and ruled in favour of the Philippines. He did not elaborate. In Washington, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said that despite Duterte's repeated criticisms of the US, the department has not been officially contacted by Philippine authorities regarding any of those things. In a story published online late Saturday, the Times said it anonymously received the first pages of Trump's 1995 state income tax filings in New York, New Jersey and CT. The impact of the revelations in the Times story were hard to gauge in their immediate aftermath. Having a limited number of records, and no confirmation or denial from Trump, the Times could not determine whether Trump has taken advantage of that. (more...)

At 8 a.m., Matthew was about 400 miles southeast of Jamaica's capital, Kingston, and 365 miles south of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and moving westward near 7 mph. RAINFALL: Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts are expected over Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao through Saturday. Affected by the typhoon, almost 315,000 residents were temporarily relocated in Zhejiang Province.
