The unmanned commercial spacecraft, on its seventh contracted resupply mission for NASA, was grappled by a robotic arm operated by astronauts inside the space station at 6:05 a.m. The S.S. John Glenn, meanwhile, will remain at the orbiting outpost until July, when it is let go to burn up in the atmosphere. Glenn is also remembered for his fearless and selfless service with the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War, as well as his time as a USA senator from Ohio. (more...)

The killing of a policeman in Champs Elysees shopping venue in central Paris claimed by ISIS rocked France's presidential race Friday as the authorities said security forces were fully mobilized to thwart any possible attack. An Atlas rocket provided the late morning lift to orbit, just as it did for Glenn 55 years ago. Atop the rocket was an Orbital ATK Cygnus capsule loaded with more than 7,600 pounds (3,450kg) of food, supplies and experiments for the station, a $100 billion research lab flying about 250 miles (400km) above Earth.
