Spotify is writing massive amounts of junk data to storage drives

Unnecessarily writing and rewriting data to some types of computer hard drive can shorten their life. Spotify users have been complaining about this issue all over the web. While it's nice to enjoy hours and hours of streaming music, it's not so nice to suffer the early demise of a hard drive or SSD. The flaw, which affects Windows, Mac and Linux computers that have the Spotify app installed, occurs both when the Spotify app is running and when it isn't being used, according to users. (more...)

Zuckerberg suggested that the clincher to his argument was that, to the extent fake news was shared, it must have been shared by Clinton supporters as well as those who backed Trump. On Wednesday night, protesters marched through downtown Portland and onto freeways to protest Trump's election. Anti-Trump protesters have been on the streets since Wednesday when he was declared victor of the election. About 500 people turned out in Louisville, Kentucky, chanting and carrying signs as they marched. Volvo spokesman Jim Nichols told Fortune that the automaker informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on October 28 about the voluntary recall to inspect the passenger seat buckle bolt. There have been no injuries or issues related to this issue, the company says. The recall was made for a precautionary measure.
