The CPSC warning is to owners of "certain top loading washing machines made between March 2011 and April 2016" to exercise caution while using their machines. "The top loader washing machines sold in the North American market are not available in Australia". Consumer Reports has "suspended" its recommended status for any Samsung top-loading washer that originally earned that designation. (more...)

While the cost of recalling devices and halting production could exceed $1 billon, it makes far more than that every quarter on sales of components for smartphones and computers. Shailene has joined The Standing Rock Sioux, who want the build of a $3.8 billion pipeline stopped, claiming that it could ruin water supplies as well as destroy tribal burial sites. In a statement to US Weekly , representatives of the actress said: "She appreciates the outpouring of support, not only for her, but more importantly, for the continued fight against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline". Honda promises it has made the interior a nicer place to travel in by adding a soft-touch instrument panel, more intricate stitching on the seats, and a seven-inch touch screen that runs the latest generation of Honda's infotainment system. The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says hurricane hunter aircraft show that Nicole's maximum sustained winds have increased to 130 miles per hour (215 kph). Georges, Bermuda, Thursday , Oct. 13, 2016. Tropical storm conditions (39-73 miles per hour winds) will quickly arrive in Bermuda overnight, with hurricane conditions (74+ miles per hour winds) likely arriving by Thursday morning. (more...)
