New flight rules were brought into effect after a similar incident took place in 2013, when Luca Parmitano had a large amount of water fill his helmet. "We re all watching, no pressure! Wishing you a happy stroll outdoors in the universe", British musician Sir Paul McCartney said on Twitter. As soon as the two astronauts were safely inside and the outer airlock hatch had shut tight, Major Peake thanked mission control: "You guys did a great job", he said. (more...)

Microsoft has been experimenting with guessing people's ages and emotions recently, and now the software maker has created an Android app to show off its machine learning skills. The three APIs are one of the many included parts of Project Oxford, an artificial intelligence platform. There are three different Mimics that you could be challenged with and once you've successfully accomplished the task, you can share the personalized photo with friends to show how you "beat the clock". "Wishing you a happy stroll outdoors in the universe". Major Peake replied: "It's great to be wearing it. A privilege, a proud moment". You'll be able to create an event using Outlook or your favorite calendar app and then you might send an invite to the involved contacts. In another message, he quipped that "at least the bits were bigger this time", suggesting the landing was more controlled than last year's two sea-landing efforts that also ended in sizable explosions following heavy landings on the barge's deck. Google is behind the project, which features a virtual tour guide throughout. When the internet company asked the children what other virtual expeditions they wanted to take, they suggested the White House, outer space and Buckingham Palace. (more...)

Musk said that once engine 9 was sacked up again, it "showed some thrust fluctuations" that were unanticipated and engineers are now trying to figure out what is causing the issue. (more...)

According to NASA , neither of the astronauts' lives were in danger. Kopra and his British crewmate, Tim Peake, had to end their spacewalk early due to the presence of water in Kopra's helmet. Among them was the Beatles legend Paul McCartney , who offered a message of "good luck" on Twitter . "It's explored all over the world". Chief astronaut Chris Cassidy, who was Parmitano's partner during the aborted 2013 spacewalk, said the cold temperature of the water indicated a leak from somewhere ... (more...)

The rare condition called microcephaly is characterized by being born with a smaller than normal head and improperly developed brain.
