A cloud of gas and dust whirling around a young star system 1,300 light-years away is quite odd. This means there is enough material to create planets on the disk. This composite image shows both the ALMA and SPHERE observations of the disk, including the rings. Independently of Bi's team, a team of astronomers led by Stefan Kraus from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom observed GW Ori with ALMA and the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (VLT). The last time the huge asteroid shot by Earth in 2011 it was visible from ground for four days and was listed as "potentially hazardous" based on parameters that measure the asteroid's potential to make "threateningly close" approaches to the Earth, according to NASA. The last time the Moon reached its apogee was on March 24. According to Gianluca Masi, an astronomer from the Virtual Telescope Project, the moon will be 7 percent larger and 15 percent brighter than an average full moon. The supermoon appearing next week is also known as the Pink Moon . The name has nothing to do with the colour of the moon itself, rather it comes from phlox subulata , a pink flower that blooms in spring in the east of North America. (more...)
