Astronomers see 'cosmic ring of fire', 11 billion years ago
- May 27, 2020
Using data from the WM Keck Observatory in Hawaii as well as images from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, an global team of researchers observed a super rare galaxy that looks rather like a donut. An Australian-led global team of astronomers has reported the discovery of an extremely rare type of galaxy, early in the history of the universe. This is in contrast with the other type of ring galaxies, which form due to internal processes. (more...)

Climate Change Will Turn Parts Of Antarctica Green, Scientists Say
- May 27, 2020
The team hopes to do another study that measure those algae blooms, as well as covers the entire Antarctica, rather than just the Antarctic Peninsula . This amounts the quantity of carbon produced by around 875,000 cars and truck trips. Green is not the only splash of colour in Antarctica. As the planet is slowly starting to get warmer, the ice found in Antarctica is melting away, and the resulting slushy environment is flawless for algae. (more...)

Weather iffy for SpaceX astronaut launch
- May 26, 2020
The launch will see the pair leave the U.S. to dock at the International Space Station nineteen hours later, where they will spend 19 hours on orbit, with orbit-raising burns and also a manual flight test. The rendezvous with the ISS will be performed autonomously, but the astronauts can take manual control in the event that things don't look right. At this altitude, it will then begin its approach towards Pressurised Mating Adapter-2, or PMA-2 on the ISS' Harmony module, which is ... (more...)

How will the weakening of the Earth's Magnetic Field affect people?
- May 25, 2020
Recently, a weakening in the South Atlantic region of the magnetic field caused worries among scientists. However, satellites and other spacecraft flying through the area are more likely to experience technical malfunctions as the magnetic field is weaker in this region, so charged particles can penetrate the altitudes of low-Earth orbit satellites.
