Seven tourists have visited the station before (one even went twice ) but the SpaceX mission will mark the first fully private manned trip to the craft. Starting in October, it'll substitute the Dragon with the next-generation Dragon 2, which is bigger and built for human crews. Space- expanded lettuce was comparable in make-up to the Earth- expanded controls, other than that in some (yet not all) tests, space-grown plant cells often tended to be richer in components such as potassium, ... A 99-million-year-old dinosaur was found trapped in amber by researchers, who believe it may be the smallest Mesozoic dinosaur discovered to date. The rising full moon crosses behind the Statue of Liberty, Monday evening, in New York City. The Super Worm Moon appears larger and brighter than other full moons. The moon also appeared full on Sunday and was visible until Tuesday. According to EarthSky , the Super Worm Moon was 222,081 miles away from Earth, which is the second-closest distance of a full moon to Earth this year. (more...)

Some studies have estimated that as much as 52 percent of the global sea turtle population have consumed some form of plastic. The smells were passed through a pipe over a small basin. "These are important and problematic pieces for the puzzle, and all plastics represent a danger to turtles". Dr Pfaller said: "The plastic problem in the ocean is more complex than plastic bags that look like jellyfish or the errant straw stuck in a turtle's nose". (more...)

Alex Mather reads from his Mars rover essay Thursday at his school, Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. Previously known only as the Mars 2020 Rover , NASA decided it should have a proper name. It will descend from Mars on the Rover. Of the ~ 1000 kg Rover to the date of delivery, under the working title of "Mars-2020", is scheduled to begin in July or August, and in February 2021 to land on Mars. (more...)

The newly discovered asteroid, 1998 OR2, was found alongside another potentially risky asteroid, called 1998 OH, NASA said in a release. The measure of the asteroid approaching the Earth had a diameter of 328 feet which is large as that of the statue of liberty and was expected to fly past the Earth on Friday at around 5.46 a.m. (more...)

While it's possible that people who touch surfaces or objects contaminated with the virus and then touch their mouths or eyes can also become infected, this may not be the main way the virus spreads, the CDC said.
