Losing weight after age 50 linked to lower breast cancer risk
- December 18, 2019
Women who lost 4.5 to 9 kg (10- 20 lbs.) had a 16% lower risk (HR=0.84, 95% CI: 0.73-0.96). "We're so thankful to be able to say it's not too late to lower your risk if you've previously gained weight , even after age 50", says study co-author Lauren Teras, scientific director of epidemiology research at the American Cancer Society . The Year's Biggest Meteor Shower Peaks This Month
- December 12, 2019
The Geminids are worth watching for one or two mornings before the peak; there will be slightly less moonlight interference, and some locations will get a short moonless period before morning twilight. Geminids are pieces of debris from 3200 Phaethon, basically a rocky skeleton of a comet, or an asteroid, that lost most of its outer covering of ice after too many close encounters with the sun.
