The images released by NASA show the impact point where ISRO's Vikram Lander landed and the associated debris field. In a statement, the space agency said, " "Green dots indicate spacecraft debris (confirmed or likely). Chandrayaan-2, a follow-on mission to the Chandrayaan-1 mission undertaken more than a decade ago, comprised an orbiter, lander (Vikram) and rover (Pragyan). (more...)

In 2018-19, the Minister said, around 79 per cent of people living with HIV knew their status, 82 per cent diagnosed with HIV infection were receiving free antiretroviral therapy and 79 per cent were virally suppressed. Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, says in a statement that the province has made incredible progress in its fight against HIV and AIDS since the turn of the century. (more...)

Bregman said scientists are always trying to learn more about the birth and death of stars, and the discovery of one as large as LB-1 could inform that process. Previously, scientists thought they could be about 20 times the mass of the sun. Because stellar black holes are so hard to identify, about two dozen of them were measured. (more...)

"Support then, the temperature used to be 2-3C warmer, sea level used to be 10-20m bigger than now", said Mr Taalas. The world's scientists calculate that emissions must fall by half by 2030 to give a good chance of limiting global heating to 1.5C, beyond which hundreds of millions of people will suffer more heatwaves, droughts, floods and poverty.
