Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Niagara

Environment Canada's thunderstorm watch notes that the storm has the potential to bring local damaging winds, torrential downpours, frequent lightning and hail. An isolated tornado or two can not be ruled out, especially on the Iowa side of the river. "Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!" The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. (more...)

"Mentioning a contentious Musk tweet about precisely the same issue, Judge Amita Baman Tracy ordered Tesla CEO to maintain a public assembly and read the findings to workers in the mill", telling them both the NLRB (National Labour Relations Board) concluded the company had violated the law". China conducted its first crewed space mission in 2003, following Russian Federation and the U.S. It has put two space stations into orbit and plans to launch a Mars rover in the mid-2020s. China's space exploration is a key part of its Made in China 2025 program, which involves attaining global leadership in space travel by the middle of the century. (more...)

Now, researchers believe that Planet Nine could actually be a primordial black hole - a black hole which formed shortly after the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago. Some objects from the Kuiper Belt orbit in the opposite direction from everything else in the solar system. They'll be looking in particular for groups of sporadic gamma ray flashes that would move slowly across the sky, as Planet Nine would be expected to do as seen from Earth. (more...)

On March 2, 2019 The Galaxy reported that astronomers from the University of California concluded that there are probably tens of millions of enigmatic, dark objects, stellar-remnant black holes lurking in the Milky Way. For the record, primordial black holes are theoretical objects that might have been created soon after the Big Bang . To observe this unique collision, space scientists had to use telescopes both on the ground as well as in space. Scientists from the Galaxy Zoo project then tagged it as a system of colliding galaxies. SDSS J0849+1114 is exciting for more than just its rarity, since systems like these might help explain why supermassive black holes merge at all. He discovered an object named SDSS J0849+1114. Despite California having abundant financial resources - which includes a significant tax base and EPA providing over $1 billion in federal grants and a $699 million loan through the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act - San Francisco has not come into compliance with federal clean water standards and must still invest billions of additional dollars to modernize its sewer system. People call it the Super Worm Moon . Why? Wednesday's full moon is also a supermoon , as mentioned above. The "super worm moon " is the last supermoon of 2019, but new supermoons will return next year on March 9 and April 8. This phenomenon will make the moon appear 14 percent larger and 12 times brighter than usual, leading to a "supermoon". February 19 will see the second lunar spectacle in a supermoon trilogy. He was seen by the team's doctor on Monday after developing what he believed was the flu, then missed Wednesday with a back injury . The International Space Station tweeted that the HTV-8 Cargo craft from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency is safely in orbit and on its way to the International Space Station. The fabric was lined with aluminum sheets to forestall a recurrence, NHK stated. The cargo ship is named Kounotori, Jap for white stork. The resupply mission will deliver about 5.3 tonnes of supplies to the astronauts aboard the ISS, including fresh food, water, batteries and devices required for experiments. (more...)

"What we see depends on our viewing angle", NASA said. As this matter is being sucked in, the light emitted from it is distorted, producing the a distinctive "double-humped" appearance. The outer part of the disk spins at a slower rate. Inside this photon ring is the black hole's mysterious shadow , which is dark and vast. Because the black hole modeled in this visualization is spherical, the photon ring looks almost circular and identical from any viewing angle. (more...)

Since the landing site is in a region that is now transitioning from prolonged dusk to a two-week-long lunar night, flat surfaces inside and near the edges of craters are likely thrown into shadows that last hours or days on end, depending on where it is located on the moon's surface.
