The EPA letter is addressed to Mary Nichols, chair of the California Air Resources Board whom Wheeler had accused of negotiating in "bad faith" as talks broke down between Washington and Sacramento, fueling the escalation. "We believe that states across the country should withdraw inactive state implementation plans that date back in some places years or decades and in many cases have fundamental approvability issues", a senior EPA official said on the call. It is not bad enough that its opaque atmosphere is 96.5 percent carbon dioxide or that it showers sulfuric acid. Based on this assumption, Dr Way and Dr Del Genio state that almost 715 million years ago, the atmosphere on Venus would have been similar to what it is on our planet right now, dominated by nitrogen and a high percentage of carbon dioxide and methane. Throughout his preliminary suspected rampage, Hayes was a scholar at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Seaside. State records show that Hayes also had a security guard licence at the time. (more...)
