Ensuring that our systems meet rigorous safety standards and detecting anomalies like this before a flight is the main reasons why we test. The stationary 800-pound (360-kilogram) lander will use its 6-foot (1.8-meter) robotic arm to place a mechanical mole and seismometer on the ground. The InSight lander will continue to study the interior structure of Mars in the hopes that it will shed light on how the inner rocky planets in the Solar System formed. (more...)

According to the Almanac , the moon will reach its peak at 7:12 a.m. There was some variation in the full Moon names, but in general, the same ones were consistent among regional tribes. There hasn't been a meteor shower to light up the sky since early January, and this one will be visible around the globe.
