Anglo American generated USD1.80 billion of proceeds from asset sales in 2016, but has now said it is not under pressure to offload assets in order to delverage the business. Anglo planned to condense its portfolio of assets to focus on core commodities of platinum, copper and diamonds. Haitong Bank boosted their price objective on shares of Anglo American plc from GBX 1,240 ($15.45) to GBX 1,400 ($17.44) and gave the stock a neutral rating in a report on Friday, February 10th. China's Ant Financial, the financial investment arm of Alibaba Group and the world's most valuable Fintech company, will invest $200 million in the mobile payment subsidiary of Kakao Corp, a major South Korean messaging platform. The company now has over 450 million users worldwide and Ant Financial's CEO told CNBC last month the company was aiming to have 2 billion customers in 10 years. (more...)

He said the government was planning to introduce it in the month of January. However, the govt official said that the process was delayed because of a pressing need to supply Rs 500 notes. Reserve Bank of India now is all set to re-introduce the Rs 1000 note.
