A plume of oil from a leak last week on the North Saskatchewan River is slowly flowing toward Prince Albert. Upstream of Prince Albert, the city of North Battleford stopped drawing drinking water from the river last week. "Husky said the cleanup at the site of the leak had been completed , although neither it nor the province gave a time line for resolving the issue entirely". (more...)

Sales fell to $42.4 billion from $49.6 billion in the year ago quarter. The company's first-quarter net income was $18.4 billion, which set another quarterly record, up from $18 billion in the same period a year earlier. Apple is widely expected to introduce a new flagship iPhone in September, and while the phone isn't expected to offer any dramatic new features or redesign, it may include upgrades such as a faster, more powerful processor and significantly increased storage. Pokemon Go has helped Nintendo's shares soar as much as 121 per cent, adding up to $30.7 billion to the firm's market value, since its initial release on July 6 in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. However, the shares started to slide as analysts questioned whether the earnings potential matched the market capitalisation. While that's still a significant bump, it's a long way off from the double-digit appreciation seen in 2013 and 2014, when South Florida's housing market was rocketing upward from the depths of the recession. U.S. equity markets tumbled on Thursday in reaction to mixed corporate earnings from technology heavyweight Intel Corp ( NASDAQ: INTC). The industrial sector was the only one of the 10 that make up the S&P 500 to fall. "We're seeing oil is fairly well-contained and range-bound". European stocks were flat as the ECB left rates unchanged. Despite the burden at hand, BP said its outlook was optimistic. The contract was cancelled in 2011 by the then UPA government, which invoked sovereignty and chose to use the advanced satellite for the country's strategic use. In February 2011, The Hindu reported that a draft audit report had flagged financial irregularities and conflicts of interest.
