According to AIADMK, lawyer of Sasikala Pushpa arrived at the party office and informed that Pushpa will arrive and wants an invitation to a crucial meeting of AIADMK scheduled for Thursday. Currently, 300 NGOs fall under the "prior permission" category but not registered under the FCRA, which means they need the ministry's approval before receiving funding from overseas. At least 2,000 others have submitted new applications to the ministry for registration under the FCRA for the first time. Prosecutors say the three got the insider information between April 2014 and late 2015 by hacking into the email systems of multiple global law firms with offices in NY. According to the SEC's complaint, the alleged hacking incidents involved installing malware on the law firms' networks, compromising accounts that enabled access to all email accounts at the firms, and copying and transmitting dozens of gigabytes of emails to remote internet locations. The largest percentage gainer on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 was Nvidia Corp (NVDA.O), which rose 6.9% and boosted the chipmakers. The Consumer Confidence Index hit 113.7 in December, The Conference Board said on Tuesday. Americans grew more optimistic about the economy in December, a sign that the postelection bump in confidence continues. Franco said the "post-election surge in optimism" was strongest among older Americans. The percentage of consumer saying business conditions are "good" edged down to 29.2% from 29.7%, while those saying conditions are "bad" increased to 17.3% from 15.2%. (more...)
