After violence broke out Wednesday morning at a student-led protest, Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Jack Smith issued a video message saying he expected "all students to remain in school and participate in the daily educational program as intended", WTOP reported. Excluding the votes of Elon and other affiliated shareholders, more than 85% of shares voted were cast in favor of the acquisition. Shares of both companies dropped in the ensuing months. SolarCity said it expects the deal to close in the coming days. The company has promised almost 1,500 jobs at the $900 million factory in South Buffalo and more than 1,400 new jobs supplying or providing services to SolarCity . (more...)

Central America suffered a hurricane and offshore quake at the same time today, triggering alarm in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Costa Rica but no immediate reports of any casualties. The U.S. National Hurricane Center says weakening is expected after landfall and Otto is expected to be a tropical storm by Thursday night. Otto is expected to be a tropical storm as it emerges into the eastern Pacific Ocean. (more...)

In the meantime, it is worth recalling that due to the sharp decline in global oil prices from $100 per barrel to lower than $50, any decline in oil market will undoubtedly bring about the greatest loss to Saudis, with a production of over 10.6 million bpd, than it would do to Iran who produces less than four million ... Du Plessis landed in trouble after television footage appeared to show him using saliva to shine the ball with a mint in his mouth during the fourth day of the second Test in Hobart last week. "Probably just for bad breath now, not for shining the ball anymore", du Plessis quipped.
