Microsoft dominated technology headlines on June 13 by announcing that it is in the midst of a deal valued at $26.2 billion to acquire LinkedIn , the Mountain View, Calif. While Weiner will have the ability to decide which specific aspects of LinkedIn and Microsoft to integrate, he will be partnering with Microsoft's Office 365 and its CRM and ERP Microsoft Dynamics teams on various products that can be integrated. Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin has claimed that much of the violence involved around 150 "hyper-violent" Russian ultras who are "trained to fight" and moved quickly. A Moscow city lawmaker, Maxim Motin, told Dozhd television on Sunday that he witnessed the stadium violence in Marseille and "Russian fans did not do anything criminal or outside the limits". According to the joint statement , LinkedIn will keep its "distinct brand, culture and independence". Reid Hoffman, the chairman, co-founder and controlling shareholder of LinkedIn has backed the deal , along with Weiner. Mark Hawtin, investment director at GAM, told CNBC's "Closing Bell" that he thought both companies benefited in the deal . LinkedIn could be worth every dime being paid by Microsoft , considering the fact that it is the largest network for professional groups ... (more...)

Tata is betting on renewable energy as Asia's third-largest economy has stepped up efforts to reduce dependence on thermal fuels such as coal in its bid to reduce pollution. AZB & Partners acted as the Legal Advisor for this transaction. Tata's renewable unit now has capacity of 294 megawatts. "This was a strategic decision taken by the company as we intent to increase our renewable energy portfolio to 20,000 MW by 2025". (more...)

Here's the new landing page when you open the app. That's not a change I'm sure I can believe in, but as long as Connect isn't taking up useful navigation space, it might not be so bad. With the upgrade, the app has a cleaner look, and Apple says it will easier to find your music. (more...)

On Friday , the court had pointed out that the CBFC was not empowered by law to censor films. But he said so in front of the media to gain publicity. It said that creative freedom need not be curbed unnecessarily and that no one should dictate to the filmmaker what he wants to put in the film. The revising committee then asked the filmmakers to effect 89 cuts, including the removal of word "Punjab" from the film. (more...)

Duncan Jones , the director of " Warcraft ", took to Twitter on Friday to defend his film against the critical reaction. Over the past couple of years, Siri has made its way to more Apple devices, but it's yet to arrive on Macs. Sources suggest that Apple may make changes to the user interface before the app is finally launched. But we can expect a glimpse at the upcoming iOS 10 as well as the latest OS X, which reports say will be rebranded to macOS. If this report is true, it would mark the first time that the service is opened up beyond Apple-branded hardware. (more...)

Around 1120 GMT, Brent for delivery in August was slightly off the high at $51.04 but still a rise of 49 cents compared with Monday's close. Global benchmark Brent crude futures LCOc1 rose to the highest level since October 12, up 32 cents at $51.76 a barrel at 0835 GMT. (more...)

A Senate report released today on the ongoing Takata airbag debacle reveals that four automakers are still selling (or, inexplicably, plan to sell) vehicles equipped with airbags that are certainly defective. The airbag inflators have been tied to at least 13 deaths and 100 injuries worldwide. Since last week alone, 15 automakers already recalled 16.4 million vehicles in the United States. (more...)

As with all of yesterday's recalls, GM's involve Takata's passenger-side airbags, which use ammonium nitrate to inflate the devices during collisions. GM also continues its close monitoring and study of the performance of Takata airbag inflators in its vehicles in the field. Driver-side airbag inflators are not included in this recall. (more...)
