The S&P 500 Index (NYSEARCA:SPY) rose 0.5% on Thursday, with financials climbing 1.3%. The central bank last made a move on rates a year ago in December. The Nasdaq composite added 0.7 percent to 5,333.97. In Ms. Yellen's 1st remarks since the election of Donald Trump as the next Us President, the Fed chairwoman indicated little had yet changed as a result of the November 8 outcome. (more...)

As per Pakistan Navy spokesperson, their fleet units chased the Indian submarine until it left Pakistani territory, Geo News reported. "The Pakistan Navy constantly pursued the submarines and pushed them back". Pakistan Navy chased after and later warned the submarine, forcing it to retreat. For more than two years, Chagos islanders living in the United Kingdom and Mauritius have been waiting for a final decision, delays prompted by cost, economic viability and objections from the USA military. A Foreign Office statement said that the existing arrangement for housing the US base would continue until 2036.
