Thirty-year-old Kala Brown was one of those people. Kohlhepp quietly answered "yes sir" or "no sir" to questions from magistrate Jimmy Henson Sunday. On Saturday, Sheriff Wright says that Kohlhepp confessed to the killings and gave details that no one else would know. Wright says "we're not even close" on identifying the remains. (more...)

SC officials have found a third body on the Spartanburg, S.C., property of Todd Kohlhepp, a convicted sex offender accused of multiple homicides and of chaining up a woman he allegedly kidnapped. Removing the remains to "preserve every bit of evidence" is a meticulous, time-consuming process, the coroner said. Clevenger said he died of multiple gunshot wounds. (more...)

The Dow Jones industrial average gained 260 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 18,149 as of 10:06 a.m. Investors have been anxious over signs that the USA presidential race was tightening. Copper bucked the trend, rising 5 cents, or 2 percent, to $2.31 a pound. UnitedHealth and JPMorgan Chase led the Dow higher.
