The pound weakened slightly from 15.50 against the dollar on opening to 15.75 in the first 75 minutes. "We bought dollars from the banking system at rates between 14.7 and 16 so it´s already working". Regional investment bank Arqaam Capital said the devaluation could bring $12 billion of foreign money into Egypt's bond market and $4.5 billion into equities - but it estimated this might take a year. German factory production dropped in September, giving up some of its gains from the previous month for an overall flat performance in the third quarter. "The brightening of sentiment indicators points to a certain recovery of the industrial sector over the rest of the year", it added. ING Bank said in a note to clients that the data reflected the reality of a sector that had been weak for nearly three years, booking an average monthly growth of 0.1 percent over the first nine months of this ... The dollar fell to 18.60 Mexican pesos per dollar from 19.03. The price of oil is coming off a six-day losing streak.
