Sir Howard Davies, chairman of the Airports Commission, said Brexit underlined the need for a "clear strategic decision" in favour of Heathrow by ministers. The government has argued that Heathrow can be expanded in line with air quality rules and long term emission reduction targets, pointing to projected improvements in aircraft fuel efficiency and the prospect for deeper emissions cuts across the rest of the economy. At least 53 people were killed and about 300 others were injured after an overloaded train derailed in Cameroon. It came off the tracks just before arriving in the central city of Eseka, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) west of the capital, Ngo'o further said, adding that at least 575 people were wounded, with a number of them in critical condition. Clashes and air strikes shook the Syrian city of Aleppo, a monitor said Sunday, as heavy fighting resumed after the end of three-day truce declared by government ally Russian Federation. Syrian troops have besieged rebel-held parts of Aleppo for weeks, subjecting the districts to some of the worst air raids since a cease-fire brokered by the United States and Russian Federation collapsed on September 19. Wells Fargo says in a statement that it manages its dealings with OH in business lines that are separate from its retail bank. The Euro did spike by around half a cent momentarily as ECB President Mario Draghi mentioned in his speech later that afternoon that the bank had not discussed extending its QE programme. In economic news, the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago said its national activity index rose to a reading of negative 0.14 in September from a downwardly revised reading of negative 0.72 in August. In 2000, Time Warner was acquired by AOL for $164 billion. The timing of the deal between AT&T and Time Warner could not have been more immaculate, and it will bring great synergies for both of them , concluded the analyst. (more...)
